When working with us to build an online service or website, there is no need to release a Request for Proposal. Services have already been procured and HIC is a vendor for eGovernment services within the state of Hawaii. Your agency will sign an agreement with us, then we will work directly with you on all aspects of system development and/or website creation.
Many of our services are implemented and designed at no cost to the state, your agency or Hawaii’s taxpayers. We can do this because of our unique self funded model. In 2014, we saved our partners over $5 million dollars in labor, printing and postage costs alone. This does not include any IT related costs that they would have incurred with an alternate solution.
When transaction fees are not feasible we can still offer services with our competitive hourly development rates.
When you work with us we maintain the infrastructure, security scanning, operating systems, hardware and in almost all case software licenses. You don’t have to worry about (or pay for) anything.
Our unique self funded model means that government agencies typically do not pay to develop or maintain new services. Some HIC partners choose to fund (discount) online services due to the resulting cost savings from reduced labor, mailing, postage, etc.. Other partners do not have the flexibility to discount their fees, therefore an additional portal administration fee or convenience fee applies. Additionally, many of the services provided through HIC do not involve transaction fees and are offered at no cost to the public.
We will help you streamline your processes and help you maximize efficiency. In turn, your agency can spend more time on productive work, and less time dealing with paper filings or data entry.
Using the self funded model, it’s in our best interest to encourage high adoption and get citizens and businesses using our services. If no one uses them, we don’t generate any revenue and no one wins. This gives us built in incentive to market our own services on your behalf and develop them rapidly. Our success is dependent on your success… and we’ll do everything it takes to make sure we are the best partner you’ve ever had.
HIC provides ongoing customer service for all of the services we develop for the life of the project. We provide our own customer service, during normal business hours Monday – Friday. Our customer service staff handle phone, emails, and live chats for all services, as well as providing technical support and answering billing questions.
Citizens are happier when they can conduct their business with the government online from anywhere, via mobile or from the comfort of their own home. No more driving in to town, trying to find and pay for parking, and then waiting in long lines. It’s a win – win for everyone.
